Interior decorator Andrea Clarke s chief talent is visualization seeing the after of a before scene She returns from a business trip to the upscale Denver loft she shares with her husband Maurice eager to tell him she s discovered she s pregnant She finds him fully clothed in the bathtub half his face blown away The horror of this scene causes her to see a place of a simple Spartan room whose only design feature is a vase of yellow flowers in a window Her search for this room leads her to a rural farmhouse where she contentedly awaits the birth of her baby But one day a stranger comes to disrupt her peace He paints a vivid picture of what might have happened in the loft back in the city and too readily Andrea sees it Or is the handsome stranger perpetrating a cruel scam on a vulnerable susceptible woman Flowers in a Window
site_link post a commentI liked this book it wasn t predictable I enjoyed the characters and thought that the way the narrator dealt with the death of her husband was interesting It wasn t a book with a lot of action but I had trouble putting it down Flowers in a Window
