This was so amusing Seriously had a smile on my face the whole time the pictures are absolutely stunning the verses really take me back to being a child and loving books like Roald Dahl and the funny bones books However saying that I definitely got out of it than a kids book The sketches are delightful too and sometimes necessary as I don t have quite the imagination the author does to make out the faces but that never diminished the fun I won this book as a Goodreads giveaway but this in no way changed my opinion this is an unbiased review Dale Gravett OK so I ll preface this by saying I received my copy of Creatures that lurk in the deep dark forest by Dale Gravett as part of a goodreads giveaway. This would not normally be a book I d approach in a bookstore as I m usual sp tied up reading fiction unless it s something in absolutely desperate to find out about That said I do bloody love a good walk in the woods with the dog and this is the kind of book for people with an imagination So if you re the type of person who looks up at the clouds and can see winged beasts.
Cars or vast buildings this might be up your street. The photography in the book is of a high standard featuring lush settings well composed and it s surprising to see the variance between the images if you think one tree looks the same as the rest this book will prove you wrong. It s a very quick read but is the kind of book you could sit and relax and lose yourself in for a few hours as you take in all of the details Dale Gravett
