Love in numbers code The characters are so vividly and well described that I was quickly immersed in their lives Their hurts became mine as both Lydia and Caleb became my very good friends I do love a book that allows me to identify with the characters and this book certainly met that qualification The plot was well developed and I was caught up in the story after having read the first chapter There was unexpected conflict galore as each of the main characters had secrets in their pasts that had to be addressed and dealt with Until conflicts are resolved.

I love Laura s books When I seen the cover of this one I just knew I had to read it too This book will pull you in line hook simmer and all The Amish are people like us and they aren t exempt from lies temptations rumors and most of all jealousy I enjoyed reading Lydia s story although I kinda skipped over the kissing and smooching whatever you call it. Love by the numbersk lyrics meaning Overall I found the writing in this book to be clumsy and disappointing Right off the bat the back cover mentions the tragic buggy accident of Lydia s fiance but multiple times in the book it s mentioned that he died in another manner I felt the writing was very repetitive making sure the reader got the plot points or feelings across by mentioning them multiple times with similar wording as opposed to a natural growth of feelings or discoveries by the characters The characters also lacked complexity and felt very one dimensional and some almost like caricatures I m not looking for super complex characters in my leisure reading I like a good quick romance or mystery but this was definitely noticeable The use of the Pennsylvanian Dutch language I suppose was also VERY clunky It felt like the author just used Find Replace on word to sub in some of their language throughout the book The words she chose to replace come night didn t add anything to the atmosphere for me and instead were just distracting. Love by the numbersb chords Caleb s strong feelings out of nowhere were a little unconvincing Lydia seemed mature in considering consequences and reality but the bigger issue for me was the handling of the two conflicts Lydia s major conflicts were spread out over the whole book were treated as serious and had the whole plot arc to be resolved Caleb confessed his secret on one of the last pages two sentences later Lydia was fine with it and it was over and done It was very awkwardly handled I think some of my discomfort with the handling of the conflicts was the issue of blame on women versus blame on men but that may be tied to the religious aspect and again that s not my area of expertise But beyond that the writing was too distracting for this to be an escapist read and made it difficult to connect to the characters or find the plot compelling Paperback Beautiful Story Love by the Numbers is a beautiful story of romance with what I consider a little bit of mystery The mystery part is where the author gives little bits and pieces of each of the main character s story that keeps the reader guessing There was also intrigue woven in through some twists and turns throughout the story As the story continued to develop and the pieces started coming together I realized that Lisa and Caleb were each carrying guilt over their past The characters try their best to stay in the friend zone but needless to say that doesn t work out very well making the characters all the endearing The story flows well with a mix romance intrigue and forgiveness It drew me in from the very first page all the way to the last page I felt the struggle pain and joy of each character as well as the blessing of God s amazing forgiveness.
