When you look back at the past you can see just how much has changed Especially during the Civil War women were not allowed to enlist to serve in the war they had to stay home and do what they needed to do But this didn t stop a orphaned 19 year old Josephine Winters Her hair was chopped off she wore boy s clothes he does it without complaining If I lived back then I d probably be at home sewing socks or whatever else the soldiers needed at the time There s no way I could work in a hospital like that and not get queasy I can imagine myself in the other scenes of the book and I must say I enjoyed being there I love my imagination taking over Sharlene you are an excellent writer and I love your stories I wish I could meet you face to face Please keep them coming It s so easy to get lost in your books 162911930X What a beautifully penned story full of surprises mystery and bravery It reminded me of the movie Mulan brave young woman cuts her hair and sneaks off to join the military to help her family and in this case herself Not only a brave heroine but a heroine with a strong faith Never once did Josie think God was not right there with her even on the battlefield She had to endure so much in her time on the battle scene and to be honest I kind of admired her for it.
