Inferno strategies osrs Strap on your power armor and get ready to fight like hell Inferno Station Helltroopers 1 Couldn t finish Strikes me as a cross between Doom and Dante s Inferno I personally enjoy a good horror style scifi unfortunately I couldn t get into this one The entire first few chapters were nothing but an info dump on every character I couldn t care less about the characters by the time things started happening I get some weren t military but made horrible tactical decisions along the way I appreciate paying homage or using it as a structure but the problem with using it is while it is a great story Dante s Inferno has certain things that don t translate well to the modern day and explaining that at the start seems like a copout than a legitimate explanation Inferno Station Helltroopers 1 Review originally published at Wednesday and his crew constitute the Omega Team a private enterprise hired by corporates as bounty hunters After rescuing an android by a ship taken by pirates they are assigned a new mission finding Simon Haddo and taking him alive There is an unproportionate bounty for this subject and Ash fears that hunting him down will be difficult than usual. Inferno location This book is a remake of Dante s Inferno a poem written in the 14 century I always like when the classics are rescued and transformed into sci fi I have grown up with Ulysses 31 and that may be part of why I like what I do nowadays. Inferno state college In the prologue the author warns us about the fact that as this is based on and old poem it may not follow the modern structure we are used to in books With that said I did not feel that as a detriment of the whole story. Inferno strategies osrs The atmosphere of this book reminded me a lot of shows like Firefly or Dark Matter but this time our main characters were on the right side of the law For the rest it seemed quite similar The crew was formed by seven people which seemed a bit excessive for a book of this length We got intros for all characters but due to the length of the book there was little character developing and evolution It is a pity since this would have made it a 5 star book. Inferential statistics Ash and his crew have to go to Inferno Station where they will have to tread across the different levels like Dante in the original They find different challenges that make the advancement risky and difficult I found a couple of these a bit confusing so I think accurate descriptions would have been a nice addition. Inferno strategies osrs Persephone Rose s narration was superb Narrating a book with seven different characters an android and an AI is not an easy task but Rose has managed to create a different voice and style for each of them He also transmitted well the character s emotions and emphasized some parts where it was needed Rose also used some sound effects to enrich the narration The introduction and From the author had some background music I do not find this essential but this is just a personal opinion The only setback I found was two sentences repeated towards the end of the book 3 21 17 and 3 53 18 It is a pity since without this it would have been a 5 star narration. Inferno state college I received a copy of this book in audio format from the narrator in exchange for an honest review Inferno Station Helltroopers 1 The author explains how this is a modern sci fi retelling of the work of Dante but you could enjoy this story without any knowledge of The Divine Comedy Basically a team of space mercenary is charged with retrieving a wanted criminal from a space station that is a cleverly built layered hellish castle The writing is workmanlike and the pacing is good witch make for an easy read The action is fast but simple and the interaction between the characters is economical I think that the Inferno structure taken from Dante s work is intriguing and well presented and I definitely want to find out how the author will tackle the Purgatory part of Dante s masterpiece in the next novel Inferno Station Helltroopers 1 A team of space marines have taken jobs as bounty hunters Corporate powers that be have hired them to retrieve a wanted terrorist named Simon Haddo who is known to be hiding out in a space station The marines led by sergeant Ash Wednesday along with an android named Barbara Ann make their way to the space station without difficulty The space station reminded me of a multi level dungeon as the team made their way down to the lowest floor where they believed Haddo was The book describes each level as they head down and what the team encounters A quick read with enough action to keep you fairly interested but not enough to continue with the trilogy three. Inferno state college five for the effort This audiobook was given by the author narrator or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom Inferno Station Helltroopers 1 I usually really enjoy books with references to Dante s Inferno especially if they are done in a clever way This book has a good concept but it didn t quite hit the mark The writing is repetitive at times and on at least 3 occasions sentences are literally repeated The pacing could also use some work Overall I just didn t feel connected to the characters or story Despite very lengthy back stories during which I often felt my mind wandering I didn t care about the people in this book. Inferno location I did quite enjoy the narration of this book It may be the single redeeming factor that made this not a 1 or 2 star book despite sloppy editing The narrator adds enthusiasm and brings the action to life It was a pleasure to listen and I will likely seek out other books that he has narrated, Inferno strategies osrs Despite being this a relatively short book I have really enjoyed it and I am ready for the next installments.
