Major Arcana (A Kizzie Stroud Story) By Margo Bond Collins
Since it really was just a standard deck of Rider Tarot and there really wasn t any explanation for it in her character past other than having a vague gypsy heritage It just might be a problem of it being just a novella so things weren t really expanded upon The romance between the two characters was very cute And I might consider picking up future books in in the series with the hope of seeing where their relationship might go to Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review and signing up for her newsletter. This is one of her better books The action happened a little faster than I would have liked.

Overall I wouldn t look for any for what I assume is going to become a series Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story Major Arcana my first read from author Margo Bond Collins an author I d wanted to read for some time now I have Outstanding short read well written with characters plot I look forward to Moonlight and Malice I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review RIP Marley January 20 2014 July 24 2018 Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy ARC but this in no way influences my review I always leave an honest review Also this author is new to me but I don t think it will be for long. Holy shiznet I want This story is gr8 Kizzie learns she has real magic she s not just a carnie I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story I read this as a part of the Not Just Voodoo anthology and the review is copied from my larger review This is probably one of my favorites in this set Not Just Voodoo and it s definitely a strong lead in I liked the characters enough to want to continue their story and enjoyed the writing style enough to add several of her books to my wishlist Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story I liked the story but it bothers me that after the initial explanation that the characters were Romani they refer to themselves as Gypsies Which is according to my understanding not something a true Romani would do because it s a slur Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story Excellent story I m a huge fan of Gypsy culture and traveling carnivals have fascinated me for years This story adds a speculative fiction urban fantasy element with some unexpected magic I hope there are many follow ups to this story because I enjoyed the world and this character. Fantastic quote from the book I loved the way bookstores smelled like paper and ink and quiet Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story A quick read and prequel to a series I usually don t like to read short stories like this but I felt it was well edited and the use of language was very good and made me search frantically for the coming book did not succeed I look forward to the coming books in this series. The only negative thing I have to say is that the plot of this short story developed a bit too quickly I would like to have a little suspense and let some scenes linger a bit longer Like watch him que to the ferries wheel etc and maybe a little longer after the fortune is told As it was now I thought well it can t be that it s happening too quickly but it did happen directly without a chance to make the meaning of the cards sink in It still was a good quick read and the author managed to make me care about the MC very quickly Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story A very short short story Hints at some interesting things but not enough to get me looking for of the character Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story Kizzie works as a Tarot card reading fortune teller at a travelling carnival The fortune tent has been passed down along with her gypsy heritage through several generations of her family with her grandmother still training her In her free time she enjoys used books and visits a local small bookstore A cute assistant decides he likes her and visits her at the carnival After some flirting she reads him his fortune only to find disaster and doom waiting for him. It s a short magical piece if you re looking for a quick read with a clean innocent teen flirtation and an author s love of books I really don t run into people outside of authors who actually smell the printed books like Kizzie does It feels a bit author indulgent when characters do that or go on and on about their love of printed books not to mention a bit antiquated in this turning paperless society we live in nowadays Though I did love the comment the boy made I loved the carnival setting and all of the outside description It felt very real It had a good plotline to it that didn t meander and had an amount of action and humor and magic and worry and hope to it And I loved her romance interest He had a strong personality with a streak of stubbornness and determination which played nicely off Kizzie and off of his friends and you could see his mind clicking away whenever he talked to her Kizzie though felt a bit lacking in the personality department She seemed reactionary than anything without really any quirks to energize her character other than her ugly prejudice against people who weren t of the carnival Not to mention that her gypsy heritage felt very stereotyped and not really researched or played around with to bother to give dimension to And the magic of the cards felt cheesy and weak but damn the magic aspect has me intrigued to know about Kizzie and Evan. I loved how the author took the time to go over the tarot cards and what they represent I m afraid I can t explain it very well so you ll have to read it to understand what I m trying to say: 5 stars Major Arcana A Kizzie Stroud Story
